the pride and dignity of the peoples of the continents defamed through
the
systems of slavery and indentureship.
When Gods Were Slaves was initiated by
Dr. Learthen Dorsey, as part of the curriculum of the
African Studies Program at the University of Nebraska,
Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Promise is being taught by Professor David V. Trotman in the
Fourth Year (senior) seminar, for the Latin American and Caribbean
Studies Program at York University, Toronto.
(The course is called Myth, History and the Caribbean Imagination).
